Dưới đây là bản đồ các bước áp dụng TRIZ cho một vấn đề thiết kế kỹ thuật, do ông Isak Bukhman vẽ. Ông này là một chuyên gia TRIZ người Latvia, từng tham gia Invention Machine Corp. (phổ biến TRIZ từ Belarus, làm phần mềm Tech Optimizer nổi tiếng), sau đó sang Mỹ và có kinh nghiệm làm việc với Sig Sigma (lĩnh vực mà TRIZ được tiếp nhận thành công nhất). Isak Bukhman cũng là thành viên điều hành tổ chức Altshuller Institute ở Mỹ, trong khi tự làm công ty tư vấn và đào tạo TRIZ của riêng mình (có một số mở rộng sang thị trường Đài Loan, Trung Quốc).
