Software by a Freiburg start-up has created a computer simulation of the path that liquid takes

If a river overflows as a result of heavy rainfall, the consequences can be devastating. But damage can now be avoided with the PreonLab software. The computer scientist Jens Cornelis and his colleagues from FIFTY2, a spin-off at the University of Freiburg, have developed a program that does what used to require complex models: it calculates on the screen how water behaves – down to the last drop.
